Treeline Analytics for Retailers
Treeline Analytics is web and email-accessible service which pulls daily sales and inventory from retailer point-of-sale systems. Retailers can see data from their own store in highly visual charts and graphs and compare their information to others in a secure, protected environment.
Compatible POS Systems include Anthology, Basil, Booklog, Bookstore Manager, Computac (iMerchant and SquareOne), IBID (DOS and ie), iPage, IRT, Ratex, TrakSystems, UBIC, and Wordstock.
Major Features
Treeline Top Sellers
This feature gives retailers the ability to quickly see what bestselling titles they may be missing from their inventory. They can access the software to see the top-selling titles at all subscribing retailers in the same channel. Above the Treeline also matches the list directly with the subscriber's own inventory, so the retailer knows which titles are currently in stock, have at one time been in stock, or have never been in stock. Results can be filtered by category, supplier, region, etc.
Drilldowns
Using the drilldown functions, retailers can compare their store's data to other anonymous stores and gauge their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. They can also review their store's performance over time.
Watch Lists
Subscribers can view title lists submitted by suppliers or create their own. Typical supplier title lists include hot-selling titles, seasonal recommendations, promotions, etc. Retailers can review their inventory in a multicolored pie chart showing the titles on an individual list that are either in stock, on order, out-of-stock, or have never been in stock.
Category Comparisons
Using Category Comparisons, subscribers can evaluate a category's performance over time and compare it to other stores. This allows booksellers to drill down and review sales and inventory trends to see how efficient their inventory is.
E-mail Notifications
Above the Treeline can be accessed from any Internet-connected computer. In addition, much of the information mentioned above can be accessed through customizable e-mail reports that can be sent to stores daily, weekly, or monthly.
Supplier Partnership Program
Retailers can provide participating Above the Treeline suppliers with limited access to their store's inventory data to allow participating supplier sales reps to see which of their company's titles the store has in stock. This allows the rep to "fill in the gaps," make more educated title recommendations, and communicate these recommendations online if desired.
So how much does it cost?
Unlike Edelweiss, which is FREE to retailers, Treeline Analytics is a subscription-based system. How much it costs depends on a few key variables:
- The annual net sales volume of your store(s)
- Your ABA membership, which covers the initial installation fee and gives you an immediate 10% discount off your monthly rate
- The level of functionality you choose: full service (Summit) or limited (Edelweiss Plus)
Coming Soon: Two new levels that won't include actual access to Treeline Analytics but will send your store's inventory data on to your IndieBound website and/or Google Local Shopping.
