Edelweiss Weekly Update – Tuesday, September 29th, 2009
Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 12:00PM Edelweiss Weekly Update – Tuesday, September 29th, 2009
We’ll be at GLiBA in Cleveland, NAiBA in Baltimore, and NEiBA in Hartford over the next week, presenting Edelweiss and meeting with book industry professionals from around the country. If you’re attending, we hope to see you there.
As a retailer or other catalog reader, the two ways you can “work” a catalog and create orders are: (1) your sales rep sends you a mailing which shows up in your Edelweiss “Inbox” or (2) you make a copy of the publisher’s unmarked catalog from the “Available Catalogs” section of Edelweiss into one of your working folders. You can right-click on a catalog to copy it. See the example below.

FEATURES & FIXES
- 'Rollup’ export format now available to sales reps: This means you can export an order for multi-store accounts that will show each store’s order quantity on the same line in your file. Also, you can elect to combine them into a single order quantity across stores. To use this feature:
- create a new Custom Export and select ROLLUP as file type, then pick an account since this will control which stores are available to pick quantities for. You would probably name the format after the account if you are going to use it for individual store quantities, but if you are going to use just for the total order quantity for each item for all stores, you can use a more generic name and also use the format for exporting orders from other multi-store accounts as well.
- You will need to create separate formats for each account if you want to see all store quantities on the same line. However, if you just need a single summed quantity for all stores in the account, you can use the same format for multiple stores.
- Drag and drop the fields from the right hand side to the box on the left to create the export format, and arrange the fields in the order you want to see them going across your exported file. For the sum of orders for all stores, make sure to select “All Store Units.”
- Tags applied to a title are now fully spelled out in the list view.
- Improvements to way that measurements are displayed in both the list view or the detail page. Note that you may need click on ‘Add Elements’ and select Measurements if they are not showing for you in the List View.
