Publisher sales reps: you should all know about this very handy feature.  Don't miss out on this important tool.

Email and Share Titles Using Edelweiss: It's Easy and Effective
blossom

Did you know that any Edelweiss user can email individual title information to anyone else?  Edelweiss and Serendipity publishers can, of course, email individual titles and lists of titles to their accounts, especially those who don't yet know about Edelweiss or who aren't regular Edelweiss users.  It's also great for reminding people about drop-ins or new publicity after they've sold the list to an account.

Retailers, along with librarians and other book professionals, can also email titles to potential customers or fellow colleagues who may be interested in select new releases.  Need help creating your monthly newsletter or communicating with your marketing staff?  Check out the Edelweiss email, print, PDF, Twitter, and Facebook options!  Or want to request an ARC from your rep?  Send a quick email to your rep requesting one.

There are two ways to generate an email in Edelweiss

  1. Send an email for a single title by clicking on the email icon on that title's detail page or
  2. Select the titles you want to include from the list view and then choose the Email option under the Actions menu.

When you create an Edelweiss email, you can add a personal message and customize the Edelweiss title details for your recipient(s):  so you decide whether to include the jacket image, summary, author bio, any of your markup notes, and whichever basic title details, e.g. format, category, pub date, etc., that make sense for your audience.  To update these selections, use the Actions menu option to Set Display Elements.

The resulting email includes your select title content directly in the body of the email, and it is consistent with Edelweiss's distinctively sleek format, as in this example:
